About me:

I had a long and successful career in the financial service industry, where, most recently, I spent 24 years at Morgan Stanley, a leading financial firm. While at Morgan Stanley, I headed up their product development department, specializing in in alternative investments such as private equity, hedge funds and private real estate. As part of my role, I developed compelling written product proposals and presentations.

I am a mother of twins who both attended the Downingtown, PA STEM Academy and are now in college. Throughout their time at the STEM Academy, I helped my children to better organize and enhance their essays, including literature essay assignments, the STEM Extended Essay and their college essays. I discovered that I truly enjoyed being an essay coach, inspiring my eventual development of Essays With Flair.

Writing Tip of the Week

Don't be afraid to incorporate into your essays references to real world situations or popular culture such as a favorite movie or book. Including a reference and drawing a parallel that is meaningful to you will personalize your essay and help it to stand out.

Downloads of sample work

The below files are recent samples of editing work I did for two college freshmen. The first sample shows the initial editing process. This essay received a grade of 98.5% after my edits. The second sample shows the raw essay before editing and the essay after my edits and coaching. This essay received a grade of 95% from a professor who told the class he almost never awards any essay more than a 93%.
